DynoT20 Final. After several months delay, a depleted Wickham Park team gathered at a damp Bexley CC to see who our opposition would be. Bexley, the winners of the other semi final looked young fit and skilful and it was clear we would be up against it. However, nobody told Dharma and Khan who ran through the upper order with the help of two smart catches from Prabha, leaving Bexley struggling at 36 for 6. Then the WP curse struck and we dropped 4 catches and there were some mis fields before we cleaned up the innings for 94. A really good performance overall and it gave us some confidence for the second half.
It was our turn to struggle. A disastrous start led to a very shaky 21 for 5, which quietened our band of raucous supporters. Then Rajat, Khan and Dharma (yes, even Dharma!!!) brought some sanity to the proceedings and we started to chip away at the total. Khan batted extremely well but we did not have the firepower to support him and the game finished with WP scoring 87 for the loss of 8 wickets. Such a shame as we came so close. Well done to Bexley who had a good all-round game and kept their nerve. Thanks also to our supporters – great to see you there.
