For those that have them, Dad would like Club ties to be worn: MCC; Forty Club, Lloyds Bank, Golf Clubs etc, but everyone is very welcome, no matter what your attire!
Dad also asked us to convey his heartfelt appreciation of your thoughts and good wishes to him. We would like to assure you all that, as you were thinking of him, he was thinking of you.
We too have taken great comfort from the love and support that has been shown to him.
Dad has asked that he be cremated and this aspect of the service will be a private family affair and will have taken place at Guildford Crematorium at 10.00am on the morning of the 21st. Regrettably, we will not be able to hold that aspect of the service at the bigger facility in Leatherhead as the Randalls Road crematorium is currently closed due to flood damage. We do hope therefore that you will understand it will not be possible for you all to join us at the Crematorium but we would very much hope you will meet with us at St Nicholas Church in Bookham at midday for the Church service and then share a glass or two at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club from 1pm.
It would be helpful if you could let us know if you will be able to attend and a rough idea of your numbers for catering purposes. Please pass this invitation on to others who you think will wish to be informed. We know we have missed many people out and the more there on the day, the merrier it will be – that is what David would have wanted!
